About Cenote Ik Kil

"Ik Kil" is a Mayan word that means "the place of the winds." It's a complex centered around a cenote, surrounded by large trees and a habitat for wild birds like the toh bird, toucans, parrots, and cardinals

Cenote Ik Kil is one of the most famous cenotes in the area, located just a 3-minute drive from the Chichen Itza archaeological site

To reach the cenote itself, you must descend about 90 steps. There are stairs inside the cenote for easy access in and out of the water

For the more adventurous, there is also a platform for diving

After walking around Chichen Itza in the heat, visiting Cenote Ik Kil with its refreshing waters is a very pleasant experience that we highly recommend.
